Heirloom Organic Black Forest Kabocha Squash Seeds (Aka Japanese Pumpkin)
Kabocha winter squash seeds (8)

Organic OP variety bred to be smaller than a typical kabocha. The deep orange flesh is medium-dry and sweet. Dark green, flat-round fruits have slightly tapered stem ends. Avg. weight: 3–4 lb. Avg. yield: 4–5 fruits/plant. Extraordinarily sweet, dry, cake-like flesh.
A uniform kabocha, with deep green skin and golden orange dense flesh. Plants produce about 4 fruits per plant, weighing 3-4 pounds each. Delicious roasted alone, or in soups; even the skin is tasty! One of the best tasting squashes we offer. The classic squash of Japanese cuisine, it is for those who value richness over sweetness. Squat round 3-4lb squashes roast up to a lovely flakey texture, and the flavor… rich nutty deliciousness with just the perfect amount of sweet. One of our favorite fall dishes is a simple kabocha soup with the roasted dark green skin chopped up, fried crisp, and sprinkled over the top. Small-medium vines produce 3-4 squashes per plant. Our favorite winter squash, it could be yours too.
